Afrika – tena na tena! Africa – again and again!

30.04.2026 / SummitClimb.de
The first quarter of 2026 was rich in tours on the sunny continent. The highest mountains of Africa never disappoint!

A strong presence in Africa has long been part of our tradition. In the first quarter of 2026 as well, we carried out numerous tours on the sunny continent: trekking to Africa’s highest mountain, the famous Kilimanjaro (5,895 m), as well as to the second-highest, Mount Kenya (5,189 m) – not forgetting the exotic Mount Meru (4,562 m). We were able to record dozens of successful summit ascents.

African tours never disappoint – adventure and a great time in the mountains are guaranteed, for trekkers and climbers. Trekking to Kibo and to Point Lenana (4,985 m) – the highest accessible points on Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya respectively – is demanding, mainly due to the altitude, and offers exotic fauna and flora. The twin peaks Batian (5,199 m) and Nelion (5,189 m) on Mount Kenya provide interesting and challenging climbing routes.

It was also a time for special family ascents: two sisters on Kilimanjaro, as well as a mother with her 11-year-old son, also on Kilimanjaro. The young participants’ success was all the more impressive given the challenging conditions – with snowfall and cold temperatures. Our young climber was not deterred and reached the summit early in the morning.

The presence of children in high-altitude is a sensitive topic – careful preparation, including precise acclimatization, professional guidance, and clear communication, is essential. Congratulations to all participants – young and older – as well as to our teams in Tanzania and Kenya!

We will soon be back in Africa, including in the Rwenzori Mountains, and look forward to many new experiences!
