Imja Tse means Island Peak. The nearly 6200m high mountain in front of the Lhotse south face is a good mountain to start Himalayan mountaineering, for ambitious trekkers an exciting challenge in snow and ice.

As part of Everest base camp trekking plus 4 days. After visiting Everest base camp and climbing Kala Patar (5643m) we are well acclimatized. At Chukung we branch off to Imja Tse base camp (5100m). After introductory training the ascent follows.
