    Want to join?

To take part in this trip, you should be in good health and physically fit. Climbing Mera Peak also requires the ability to give up some everyday comforts and the motivation to reach the summit as part of a team. Experience with glacier or high-altitude tours (in the Alps or elsewhere) is an advantage, but we will cover all essential basics again during our trip. Starting from high camp requires a certain level of outdoor experience - such as organizing your sleeping setup and beginning the ascent directly from your tent.

  • Technical requirements

The normal route to Mera Peak, 6476m, does not pose any major technical difficulties. According to the SAC alpine scale, the route is rated WS- / according to the French scale: PD-. The main difficulty lies in the last steep upswing of about 10-15 meters, where our Sherpas lay a fixed rope and together with the leader take care of the participants.

    Endurance

With almost 900 meters of ascent from 5800m to almost 6500m the ascent is conditionally demanding. You should be in good shape and practice endurance sports regularly.

Testimonials

Since our first ascent of Mera Peak in 2009, we have successfully reached the summit every year (except in 2020 due to Covid-19). The proven synergy with the simultaneously running Baruntse expeditions and the collaboration between the two teams has been a great advantage: our trekking participants benefit from a strong expedition team with experienced Sherpas, and everyone enjoys a better price-performance ratio.

We now run the Mera Peak trekking tours several times a year. Smaller groups are guided by our experienced Nepali guides, and for teams of up to 12 participants, a SummitClimb leader also joins the tour. Thanks to this solid support, more than 95% of our participants have reached the summit over the past 15+ years.
