A mountain athlete needs endurance above any other specific fitness skill. Cardiovascular fitness is of course always subject to the movement (as climbing rocks or steep ice, you will not be able to transfer your triathlete or running fitness to mountains without being solid in the required mountaineering skills).

This excellently well-guided trip follows the north approach to ABC (Advanced Base Camp = advanced base camp, 6300 m.a.s.l.), the highest base camp in the world. To participate, you should be well prepared.
Equipment: Besides all-weather mountain clothing, a warm sleeping bag up to - 15° comfort range, a down jacket, very warm mountain boots and crampons belong to the basic equipment.
Travel documents: Passport, valid for at least 6 months.
Visa for Nepal can be applied for on arrival.
The visa for China (especially Tibet) we apply for together in Kathmandu, Nepal through the Chinese Embassy.
No vaccinations are required. Recommended: Tetanus, Polio, Diphtheria, and Hepatitis-A.
After the Tibet side of Mount Everest (China) remained closed to foreigners from 2020-23, Tibet (China) opened to foreigners in 2023, expeditions to Cho Oyu and Shisha Pagma could be carried out, and for 2024: It looks good to enter China, Tibet.
Since Aug. 30, 2023: No more restrictions regarding Covid-19 for entry to China.
Trekking at an altitude of over 6000m is demanding. Good physical fitness and an average level of fitness are required for participation. You do not need to have extensive mountaineering experience.
Comfort: Participants need to be prepared to live with the very basic conditions on the road to Tibet (China) and during the trek to ABC stay in simple tents. Flexibility for local conditions, delays, transportation, official regulations, or bad weather should be brought along.
Tibet / 6000m+: The rapid ascent to the Tibetan Plateau can lead to altitude sickness. The open handling of physical sensations is required and the intake of DIAMOX is generally recommended.
