Stamina - Endurance
A mountain athlete needs endurance above any other specific fitness skill. Cardiovascular fitness is of course always subject to the movement (as climbing rocks or steep ice, you will not be able to transfer your triathlete or running fitness to mountains without being solid in the required mountaineering skills).

Fullservice participation, the most popular, we organize an expedition for mountaineers with top Sherpa team, excellent setup for the Ama Dablam ascent under the guidance of an experienced guide.
On request we organize personal upgrades (helicopter charter, 5* hotel, lodges and luxury VIP-base camp), and one or more personal Sherpa guides or IVBV mountain guide for your maximum securtiy and suceess.
Ama Dablam is located in the very well-developed Khumbu Valley. There are many lodges, coffee houses and shopping facilities along the way to the base camp. We therefore offer you a variety of options for participation including a very basic package (just the formalities) on which you can add trekking or base camp services.
The basic price includes only the legal steps necessary for the ascent and our emergency assistance. At least two joint registrations are required for basic participation, as we do not support solo ascents on the mountain - safety is important to us.
Other services can be booked individually or as a package - per person (2 participants):
We are happy to make groups and mountain guides who wish to participate with guests an individual offer for Ama Dablam.
We can arrange your individual dates for the entire season from the beginning of October to the end of November as part of our logistics.
Our basic climb on Ama Dablam includes:
Additional services available on Ama Dablam:
If you want to avoid traveling to Ramechhap, there is an alternative option to fly by helicopter to Lukla. A helicopter will fly from Kathmandu to Lukla but you have to pay extra costs to charter the flight or to share the flight with other trekkers. So, you need to let us know a day before so we can arrange a helicopter flight to and from Lukla.
Helicopter flights back from Namche Bazar, or a scenic flight from Aba Dablam Base Camp to Everest Base Camp and up into the Khumbu glacier, then back to Lukla (Kathamdu) can be arranged.
The pearl in the Himalayas, steep and exposed awaits us:
We follow the normal route for this challenging technical peak, and fully equipped with fixed ropes the climb becomes an achievable high-altitude-via-ferrata that is well suited for intermediate recreational mountaineers. We offer you advice, preparation, and support to achieve this climb and hopefully reach the summit of Ama Dablam.
Requirements: Participants of the expedition should be independent alpinists with a good knowledge of the common belay techniques. Experience in camping in winter conditions and knowledge of symptoms of altitude sickness to avoid them should be brought along. Experience in technical climbing and in high mountains is necessary for participation. A previous 6,000m+ / 19,500ft+ experience would be advantageous.
Technical requirements: You should be able to climb safely up to the 3rd degree of difficulty in mountain boots and be able to climb ice flanks steep up to 50°. You should know how to use a climbing clamp. Experience with abseiling eights and independent abseiling over longer distances is required.
Physical fitness: Endurance for 1,000 meters / 3,200 feet of technical ascent, approx. 6-10 hours and subsequent descent (abseiling) is necessary. The necessary concentration during the descent must be very high due to the technical difficulties (constant danger of falling). A corresponding conditional reserve is necessary.
Danger - Warning: This expedition is associated with subjective and objective dangers. Even though we try to make the tour as safe as possible due to our many years of experience, a high degree of personal responsibility and health risk awareness is necessary. Participation in the expedition and the ascent of Ama Dablam are at your own risk and responsibility.
Flight: to/from Kathmandu
Visa on Arrival: Under the prevailing law, almost all* foreign nationals with a certificate of complete vaccination against covid-19 or a negative certificate of the Covid-19 test will be able to obtain an on-arrival visa from Immigration Offices at the entry points. Your passport should be valid for min. 6 months at the time of entry.

"First of all many thanks for arranging such a successful trip to Ama Dablam, I have just arrived well back home, and though it's only been a day, I have started to look for new climbing adventures and Everest is high on the list. I just wanted to send My High appraisals for the Sherpas and the leader Martin, they are doing an amazing job. So much work going on behind the scene that We do not see. And the food is amazing."

Preparation tour for your Ama Dablam climb
Island Peak is declared as a trekking mountain by the NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) and can, therefore, be climbed at relatively low costs with an NMA permit. This 6200m mountain is considered "easy" to climb among the six thousand meter peaks in Nepal and offers a good acclimatization for the Ama Dablam. Imja Tse, Nepali for Island Peak, is located in the Khumbu Valley near the border to Tibet between Baruntse and Lhotse. The impressive 3000m south face of Imja Tse can be seen from Island Peak. The ascent along the normal route is relatively easy, but requires more than "just" trekking. The last 400 heights follow a glacier flank and snow-covered ridge (mostly secured with fixed ropes) - this classic alpine high altitude terrain requires walking on crampons.

In Kathmandu, there are countless hotels in all price ranges. We choose a simple hotel at the edge of Thamel for our expeditions. The rooms are simple but clean, there is a simple breakfast. For lunch and dinner, a wide range of restaurants in the vicinity offers great variety.
If you have special wishes and interests for your accommodation at the start and/or end of your expedition, please let us know.
