Rwenzori Mountains are located on the border between Uganda and the DRC (Congo) in the heart of Africa. The Rwenzori Mountains , also known as Ruwenzori range and named "mountains of the moon" since ancient times, reach heights up to 5,109 metres (16,762 ft) . The highest peaks are permanently snow-capped. UNESCO declared the area a World Heritage Site in 1994. The Ruwenzori range is the third highest in Africa after the ranges of Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. Deep mountain valleys, the largest glaciers in Africa and diverse flora with gigantic Seneci, Giant Groundsels and Lobelia form one of the last hidden areas of this earth. For more than 15 years we have been traveling the Rwenzori and are your experienced experts to explore the Rwenzori range, for unique expeditions as well as standard treks and climbs..

Trek, Climb, Explore - Summit Climb:

Rwenzori - mountains

The Rwenzori mountain range is about 120 kilometres (75 mi) long and 65 kilometres (40 mi) wide. It's highest mountain is Mount Stanley, which highest peak is Margherita Peak reaches 5,109 m (16,762 ft) height above sea level. It is connected to the second highest peak named Alexandra Peak (5,091 m / 16,7027 ft) by a ridge that demarks  the border between the DR Congo and Uganda. Our trek starts with traveling through Uganda to the Rwenzori, where we follow the central circular trail, the most popular route to explore the mountain range. Additionally, we organize your gorilla tracking in the Bwindi National Park (+2 days) or/and classical safari touring national parks in Uganda or East Africa.

II. Mount Stanley Climb - Uganda

The ascent of Mount Stanley (5109m), the highest mountain of the Ruwenzori, is a challenging glacier tour that would be an interesting goal of any mountaineering expedition. Three full days for mountaineering are generously planed in our itinerary and with some luck more beautiful "moon mountains" like Mount Speke or Mount Baker can be climbed.

III. Ruwenzori Expedition - DRC/Uganda

100% Adventure: From the DRC (Congo) to Uganda, this west-east crossing of the Rwenzori has pioneering spirit and has only been dne twice in the last 30 years! Therefore this tour is listed as an expedition. If you are interested, ask us informally: As soon as the situation calms down we are back in the DRC to climb Mount Stanley's westface for the traverse into Uganda.
